ABOUT THE LIBRARY MEDIA CENTER

The Library Media Center has an excellent fiction collection and a growing reference and non-fiction collection that support the curriculum. There are videos for classroom use and a small but well selected professional collection. We also have a selection of educational and popular periodicals. The Media Center maintains this web site that contains links to remote services, pathfinders that match our curriculum, and resources for students and faculty.

SERVICES

BOOK SEARCH AND RESERVE SERVICES
Suffield Public Schools Catalog is online at http://destiny.suffield.org

Students can request a book from the Media Center Collection and have it placed on reserve. Reserves are held for three days. You can also request a book that is out and we will hold it for you when it is returned.
We can search other library catalogs for you, help in locating books and other sources.

CIRCULATION

BOOKS circulate for two weeks. There is a limit of two books.
MAGAZINES circulate for one week. There is a limit of one magazine.
Current issues do not circulate.
RENEWALS: You may renew materials if they are not reserved.
FINES: NO FINES.
OVERDUE: Notices are distributed through your language arts teacher once a week.

If you lose or misplace an item please report it to us.
You must pay to replace lost of damaged items.

Students with materials overdue more than three weeks lose their privileges.

REMOTE SERVICES
World Book , Discoverer, SIRS Researcher, and Grolier Online can be accessed from home if you are a student or faculty member at Suffield Middle School. Contact Mrs. Vincent for access information.

ICONN, the Connecticut Digital Library may be accessed from home by any Connecticut resident with a public library card. If you need help contact Mrs. Vincent or your local public library.
